Istanbul, Asia and New City Tour

Your today’s visits will start with the 2. Important palace of the Ottomans The Dolmabahce Palace (also known as the ‘Late Palace’, where Ataturk- the founder of the Turkish Republic in 1923-spend his last days and died in 1938 on 10th November)- Where much more original interior decoration of the palace is still to be seen compared to Topkapi Palace

Afterwards you will cross the Bosphorus by boat, from Besiktas to Uskudar, where besides other highlights, following ones will be visited: Mihrimah Sultan Mosque. (build in the 16th cent. A.D. by Sinan the palace architect)

And after a nice and short walk along the waterside of the Bosphorus, you will reach the Leander Tower (light-tower at the entrance of the Bosphorus situated-19th cent. A.D.), from where one of the best views of Istanbul (looking from Asia towards Europe=Old & New City ) could be catched

Lunch brake where you can taste the Turkish Kitchen (lunch is not included in the tour rate) In the afternoon you will cross the Bosphorus-Bridge and arrive at Taksim Square, from where the very famous Boulevard Istiklal Caddesi now since a few years closed for motorized vehicles starts, which is also well-known as Beyoglu.

Before Ankara became the new Capitol of the Turkish Republic, on this boulevard were all the foreign Embassies nowadays these architectural masterpiece buildings are still in use as general consulates, movie, theatres, boutiques, cafes, bars, patisseries, antiquity shops, bookshops etc.

After it turned into a street for pedestrians, they have also rebuild the ‘Old Tramway’, which is now cruising between the two ends of this boulevard, Taksim-square and Tunel-square
